Asia Pacific Medical Technology Development Company Limited (APMTD) was founded with the mission to address the unmet health care needs of patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases.
APMTD is a privately-held medical device company founded by Dr. Henry Lin and Dr. John Gilbert. The company was founded with the mission to advance cutting-edge medical technology into clinical use and to provide patients with best possible medical care. Since its inception in 2011, the company has been developing technologies for cardiovascular diseases including Stroke, Cardiac Arrest, and peripheral vascular diseases, and has made significant progress. In 2017, the company’s clinical partner presented the first-in-human case of the brain selective hypothermia technology and won the Investigator Award at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions meeting in San Diego, U.S.A. APMTD is rapidly expanding, and have established R&D, clinical, manufacturing, operation, and market development bases in the U.S., Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China. Our China team have developed the know-how on new product registration, clinical support, provincial tendering, reimbursement, hospital product listing and after-sales support. These provide strong support to our new product development and market entry plan for China. APMTD is dedicated to achieving its goals of improving medicine and helping more patients. In 2017, APMTD received institutional funding support led by Panacea Venture. Panacea Venture focus on investments in innovative and transformative early and growth stage healthcare and life sciences companies worldwide.

Dr. Henry Lin is a co-founder of APMTD and is Chairman of the APMTD Board of Directors. Dr. Lin is an entrepreneur with a passion in cutting-edge medical technology. He is a Harvard-trained immunologist, and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Lin obtained his A.L.M. in Management from Harvard University with a distinguished academic achievement award. He has a diverse academic background including a M.S. in Biotechnology and a Ph.D. in Medicine from the University of Queensland in Australia.
Dr. John Gilbert is a co-founder of APMTD and is Deputy Chairman of the APMTD Board of Directors. He has extensive experience as both a founding CEO and CTO, and is an inventor on 41 issued U.S. patents. Dr. Gilbert specializes in start-up operations, technology assessment, regulation, IP creation, and business model development in the medical technology industry. He earned his A.B. and M.A. from Harvard University, and received his Ph.D. in physics from California Institute of Technology. He was a postdoctoral fellow and Research Associate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1992-1996.
Mr. Lu is an entrepreneur with extensive start-up experiences with Silicon Valley VCs. He has previously been involved in IT, semiconductor, software, and internet content and services companies. He has a successful track record in building start-up companies, and is experienced in cross-pacific operations and new business. Alex has a deep passion about health care and medical technology. He has been an active investor in several medical start-up companies, including APMTD. Alex is currently a member of the Board of Directors of APMTD.
Dr. Lim Cheung has over twenty years of experience in medical device development in the fields of radiology and minimally invasive surgeries at both large multinational companies and small venture-funded companies, from concept, R&D, engineering, manufacturing, quality, regulatory affairs, clinical trials to business operations. He was head of R&D, patent inventor and chief designer at Hologic and Smith & Nephew in Boston U.S.A. He led teams that developed products which generated billions of dollars in cumulative revenue and profit. Dr. Cheung earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from California Institute of Technology, and Ph.D. in Physics from University of Maryland. He held research positions at NASA and Harvard University.
Ms. Anne Cheng has more than 17 years of experiences in the medical device industry. She has held numerous leadership positions at Cook Medical. During her career, Anne established extensive experiences in sales support, new customer accounts building, project management, marketing, and new product development. She consistently delivered and exceeded sales target and has been awarded “Employees of the Year” by Cook Medical. Anne’s most recent role was General Manager of Cook Medical in China, where she was responsible for the initial setup and establishment of Cook’s China operations.
Mr. Daniel Lai is a highly experienced professional with more than 13 years of extensive experience in product management, marketing, sales and business development in the medical device industry. In the past, he brought significant contributions to companies such as Macromed Biomedical Ltd. Co., Life Star Hospital Management Consulting Corp., Medishine Medical Ltd. Co., Johnson & Johnson Medical Taiwan Co. and A-Strong Medical Ltd. Co..Daniel has consistently exceeded sales targets in his career, delivering as high as 90% revenue growth. Daniel Lai is both a shareholder and sales and marketing advisor of APMTD.
Ms. Lin is the Finance Manager of APMTD. In her time serving in Deloitte & Touche, she had been involved in financial report auditing, taxing, internal control auditing, and IPO advising projects. Ms Lin double majored in accounting and management information system in National Chengchi University and required both the degree of Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration.
