Asia Pacific Medical Technology Development Company Limited (APMTD) is a privately held medical device company with a mission to address the unmet healthcare needs of patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases. Founded by industry experts, our company has been dedicated to advancing cutting-edge medical technology into clinical use and providing patients with the best possible medical care.

Our core capabilities include designing, testing, and conducting clinical research as a medical device development company. With a focus on innovation and quality control, we work closely with external vendors to build our devices to specification. We then inspect the quality of the produced components and complete the final assembly and labeling in our facility.

APMTD is rapidly expanding, with R&D, clinical, manufacturing, operation, and market development bases in the U.S., Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China. We have received institutional funding support led by Panacea Venture, a firm that focuses on investments in innovative and transformative early and growth stage healthcare and life sciences companies worldwide.

Hypothermia Technology

As pioneers in ICU extracorporeal solutions, we have made significant progress in developing technologies for cardiovascular diseases, including stroke and cardiac arrest. Our preliminary human data demonstrates the feasibility of our hypothermia technology, and we are committed to advancing our clinical program with the goal of saving lives and improving patient outcomes.

First-in-human Feasibility Study

APMTD has launched the first-in-human feasibility study for its innovative neuroprotection technology. Building on this clinical experience, the company is now advancing to pivotal clinical trials for stroke and cardiac arrest patients, with the goal of obtaining FDA Premarket Approval (PMA) for its state-of-the-art solutions. We are committed to advancing our clinical programs and developing groundbreaking solutions for critical care.

Leadership

Henry Lin, Ph.D.

CEO

Dr. Henry Lin is a co-founder and CEO of APMTD, With a background in innovative medical technology. He brings extensive knowledge and expertise to the company. He has successfully executed multiple first-in-human clinical studies globally, showcasing his ability to effectively bridge the gap between technical and medical teams. Throughout his career, Dr. Lin has demonstrated a proven track record of securing multi-million-dollar investments from reputable institutional investors. He holds a Ph.D. in Medicine from the University of Queensland, Australia and a Master’s degree in Biotechnology. In addition, he has completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School and holds an A.L.M. in Management from Harvard University, where he was honored with a distinguished academic achievement award.

John Gilbert, Ph.D.

CTO

Dr. John Gilbert is a co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of APMTD, With over 50 issued U.S. patents and extensive experience as both a founding CEO and CTO, Dr. Gilbert is a specialist in start-up operations, technology assessment, regulation, IP creation, and business model development in the medical technology industry. He played a pivotal role in inventing APMTD‘s extracorporeal platform technology and establishing the company’s intellectual property portfolio. Dr. Gilbert holds an A.B. and M.A. from Harvard University, a Ph.D. in physics from the California Institute of Technology, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Lim Cheung, Ph.D.

Senior Vice President of Engineering

Dr. Lim Cheung has 20+ years’ experience in medical device development in radiology and minimally invasive surgeries. He oversaw every stage from concept, R&D, engineering, manufacturing, quality, regulatory affairs, clinical trials to business operations at both large multinationals and small ventures. In previous roles as head of R&D, patent inventor, and chief designer at Hologic and Smith & Nephew in Boston, Dr. Cheung led teams that developed products generating billions of dollars in cumulative revenue and profit. He has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Maryland. He held research positions at NASA and Harvard University.
